You are cordially
invited
to attend the Consultant Entrepreneur's Forum, an idea exchange
intended to increase our value to our clients, and more importantly
(for our sanity), provide a forum to poke fun at those "ridiculousnesses"
of living as a consultant in modern society.
Our next meeting
will be Friday, September 15th, between the hours of 2pm
and 4pm at Pane e Cioccolato café on 10 Waverly Place
(on the corner of Mercer) in downtown NYC. It's BYOF - Buy Your
Own Food, and Pane only takes cash.
Participants
can arrive any time between 2pm and 4pm, but note that arriving
at 2pm permits you to get more out of it. Please RSVP to reserve
an optimal number of seats.
The discussion
topics for the afternoon will be:
1)
Defining Crime in Our Society,
2) War As a Means or An End,
3) Agnotology (the study of ignorance) and Society,
4) Re-org'ing the Galaxy or Fixing the Environment - Ideas on How
To Better Spend Our Time and Money
Here are the
inspirations for each:
1) I published
a
blog on my opinion on the Imette St. Guillen homicide and received
a stern response from a close friend of the late Ms. Guillen. That
and the sudden witch
hunt for pedophiles sparked by Mr. John M. Karr.
2) I'm utterly dumbstruck by Israel (nearly
9 billion in military spending) vs. Lebanon ($540
million in military spending): who won, who lost, and why -
really.
3) Yes, it's a science; a new one. I think we need to make fun...
err, I mean, talk about it.
4) My trip to Tom
Brown Jr.'s really got me thinking about what we're doing to
our planet. There are lots of creative solutions, but we'd rather
spend time renaming planets than implementing these solutions.
If you have
a topic in mind, let me know and it'll get added on. Otherwise,
bring it with you...
Remember, this
is a casual forum, with no expectations of transactions, unless
you're using ideas as currency. The notion continues to be that
there are simply a dearth of stimulating experiences in our networking
travels, making this a refreshingly innovative concept. For more
information, including the forum's participation policies and a
history of this endeavor, visit: www.alberrios.com/events/cef/.
See you in 3
weeks!
