The Consultant Freethinker
Forum (CFF)
is an experiment in networking. The primary purpose of the forum is to
foster an environment of open discussion, debates, and lectures. Ideas
and dissent of all kinds are welcome, as is tough skin.
Participation
Policies:
1) There is no criteria
for applying or joining. Although participant is
expected to be a consultant with his/her own practice or maintain a leadership
role within a consulting firm, it is not a requirement for participation.
Participants to CFF need only show up at regularly scheduled meetings
to participate. There are no dues, fees, or payments and participants
must pay their own way when applicable.
2) CFF is an open group. Two or more representatives of the same industry
or profession can participate. (Recall that the primary purpose of this
group is not to engage in lead referrals, but idea exchanges).
3) Attendance and punctuality is not mandatory, but attendance requires
participation. Participation includes at least one
remark on any topic on the table at any time.
Format:
Time Frame.
The Consultant
Freethinker Forum (CFF) meets in the latter part of the day for a spam
of 2 to 4 hours - based on participants. Attendance during the entire
time isn't mandatory. Participants can arrive during any time between
2pm and 4pm, but note that arriving at the start permits you to get more
out of it.
Process. As participating consultants arrive, introductions
occur. It is likely that the forum will already be engaged in a topic,
to which an arriving consultant can contribute. It is important to remember
to respect anyone who has the floor at any time. The facilitator (the
host) may at his/her discretion inform any current participant when they
are in danger of monopolizing a topic with their views.
Networking. As the purpose of the CFF isn't to conduct
business transactions, the opportunities that do occur are natural and
genuine (i.e. after a debate, comraderie isn't unheard of). As a result,
please come prepared to not derive any immediate commercial value
from the CFF.
